About the Annual Conference

This conference is the annual flagship event of the University of Southern California Master in Public Diplomacy (MPD) program and is run entirely by students of the Society of Public Diplomats organization. Every year students choose a timely topic of public diplomacy to bring to the forefront of conversations at USC, the greater Los Angeles community, and global audiences. Past conferences discussed Migrants, Media and the State (Spring 2018) and City Diplomacy (Spring 2017). This year is the eleventh conference and the chairs are Dena Taha and Kerry Velez, both second year MPD students. This year the conference is sponsored by USC

Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, the Center on Public Diplomacy, USC Master of Public Diplomacy program and USC Graduate Student Government.

Remote Conference Viewing

There will be full video content for anyone wishing to attend the conference but who cannot make the event in person. It is still being determined whether this entails live streaming via Facebook Live or will just live on YouTube following the completion of the conference. If you have an opinion about either of these options please answer our Facebook poll which lives on our Facebook Event.
